So, everything’s going great and all your learners are completing what they need to, when all of a sudden one of your team goes on long-term sick or maternity leave.
They aren’t exactly leavers, but they aren’t going to be logging in and completing their learning any time soon either. You might be wondering, does it really matter if temporary leavers are left as they are? Well, yes! Not doing anything about these learners will mean they will still be included in your reporting, and will skew your completion data. It may end up looking like learners aren’t completing their courses, when in fact you’ve included learners that aren’t even at work!
So, we need to exclude them from reporting. Here’s how…
From the Manage people and places menu, pick Manage leaving/excluded temporary learners:
Let’s use the example that Rebecca Neill is going on maternity leave, so search for Rebecca's name:
And then press the red cross icon which shows that she is not excluded from reporting (yes, it’s a double-negative but it works!).
You’ll see a pop-up box which explains the consequences of what you are about to do, so click on Change Status:
Remember that all you are doing is switching them from 'included in reporting' to 'excluded from reporting'.
The green tick shows that Rebecca is now excluded from reporting (so your learner stats will be accurate again!)
